FORMER JUNIOR MIDDLEWEIGHT CHAMPION KASSIM OUMA SET TO HEADLINE GOLDEN BOY EAST SHOW OCTOBER 13

DEMETRIUS HOPKINS AND ROCK ALLEN RETURN TO ACTION AT BORGATA HOTEL CASINO AND SPA IN ATLANTIC CITY LIVE ON HBO LATINO

Former junior middleweight champion Kassim “The Dream” Ouma (22-2-1) will return to the ring for the first time since losing his IBF belt to Roman Karmazin in July to face Alfredo Cuevas (25-7-1) as Golden Boy Promotions East, in association with Peltz Boxing, returns to Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa in Atlantic City on Thursday, October 13 as their multi-fight relationship continues. “I believe I am still the best junior middleweight in boxing,” said Ouma. “I plan to regain my place as a champion very soon.”

Golden Boy Promotions East President Bernard Hopkins is looking forward to returning and staging his second promotion at Borgata, one of the preeminent casinos on the east coast. “The first show at Borgata was a great success and showed we are serious about putting on first class boxing events,” said Bernard Hopkins, President of Golden Boy East. “We will continue to showcase our fighters the right way and the addition of a world-class champion like Kassim Ouma only reinforces our commitment to bring the best to Borgata.”

In addition to Ouma, the show will also feature the return of Philadelphians undefeated junior welterweight Demetrius Hopkins (20-0-1 7KO) and Olympian Rock Allen (1-0-0 1KO) —to the Borgata Events Center. HBO Latino will air all three bouts live. Hopkins and Allen both fought on the inaugural card and are looking forward to fighting close to home once again. “It’s great I get to return to Borgata,” said Hopkins. “The arena is a perfect place for fights and my fans from Philadelphia will be able to come back too. It already feels like home.”

Ouma, who used boxing to escape Uganda as a teenager—where he was forced to join the military and share in the country’s bloodshed—was devastated by his loss to Karmazin and vows to recapture his title, will face Cuevas in a scheduled 10 round match-up that will headline the seven-fight card. Opponents for Hopkins, who is close to challenging for a junior welterweight division title and Allen, who will be fighting in his third professional fight, will be named soon.

Tickets are $30 and $70 and can be purchased at the Borgata Events Center Box Office, www.ticketmaster.com, and at all Ticketmaster outlets. The event is being promoted by Golden Boy Promotions East in association with Peltz Boxing and Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa
